The message I did receive from its customer service was sarcastic and confrontational and did not acknowledge any fault at their end. When I contacted customer service I was told there is nothing that can be done and there is no intention of reinstating the package I paid for or reimbursing the money I have lost. The only way out was to cancel my existing subscription, at which point I lost the VPN package I had paid for and any remaining time and credit linked to the package.
When I realised this change had been made without my consent I also realised I had been tied into an auto renewal for this new package which costs double the product/service I paid for. From purchasing a "basic" VPN package I was automatically subscribed to its most expensive "Unlimited" package - offering me 15 free email addresses and 500GB of cloud storage, which I do not need.
Changes were then made to its subscription packages that I was never informed of. Do Not Go Near Proton VPN (You Will Be Robbed)
